In 1999, Armet commenced the manufacture of the Balkan with its Advanced Composite Armoured Vehicle Body (ACAVB), with armouring to defeat 7.62 AP rounds. This lightweight 4x4 armoured vehicle is ideally suited for troop transportation and other purposes in the internal security and public order role. Using the (ACAVB) process, Armet also manufactures the Guardsman, a heavy capacity armoured vehicle which can be based on the Ford F-series, GMC-series or the Navistar 4800-series chassis. These vehicles may be armoured to defeat 7.62 AP rounds and blast, and will transport and support a crew of up to twenty fully equipped tactical personnel. The vehicle may also be equipped with a water tank for riot or crowd control situations or as an EOD vehicle.
