The commercial airline industry is going through the most significant structural change in fifty years. Restructuring, transnational alliances, and a focused effort on reducing costs have dramatically and permanently, changed the landscape of our industry.
Airbase Services, Inc. is committed to the creating and managing of aircraft equipment partnerships with commercial airlines. There are three key aspects to those relationships: equipment, locations and customers. Our technical focus is on cabin and cargo hold equipment: seats, IFE, phones, galley equipment and ULD's. We are the largest independent supplier of these maintenance services in the world. We maintain excellent relations with OEMs for spares and documentation, and work closely with both the airline and the OEM on warranty and design issues.
The second aspect of our business is locations. Currently, we operate facilities in many North American cities:
ATL Atlanta DFW Dallas DTW Detroit ORD (serves MDW) Chicago EWR (serves JFK & LGA) Newark MSP Minneapolis DCA Washington DC (serves BWI & IAD) PHX Phoenix SEA Seattle YUL Montreal LAX (serves SNA & ONT) Los Angeles YVR Vancouver MIA Miami YYC Calgary YYZ Toronto YHZ Halifax
All facilities are FAA or MOT approved repair stations. Most stations support on-airport, field service teams and provide convenient, daily pickup and delivery service.
The third and most important aspect of our business is our partnership with the airlines. We work together to structure long term contracts in a variety of forms:
"Power by the hour" Fixed price per period (weekly, monthly, etc.) Fixed price per unit repaired Fixed price per type of repair Time and material
Through the use of our information collection and reporting system, we provide a variety of reports and analysis. We work closely with airlines to rationalize repair logistics, and together with the OEMs, drive down the cost of ownership. For example, we are active in American Airline's SE2000 program - the industry's first vendor management program devoted to optimizing the supply chain using SPC, TQM and ISO tools.
