Xillix Technologies Corp. is a Canadian medical device company focused on the research, development and commercialization of fluorescence endoscopy for the improved detection and localization of cancer.
The Company's core technology, known internationally as Xillix Life(tm) (Light Induced Fluorescence Endoscopy), helps physicians diagnose early-stage lung and gastrointestinal (GI) cancers. The Company's first-generation product, Xillix LIFE-Lung(tm), achieved worldwide regulatory approvals including US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) Pre-Market Approval (PMA).
Onco-LIFE(tm), the Company's latest device, developed for lung and GI applications incorporates conventional white-light and fluorescence endoscopy in a single device that is compatible with a wide range of endoscopes. On June 30, 2005, Xillix received U.S. FDA approval for its Pre-Market (PMA) Supplement (P950042/S003) for Onco-LIFE, in the lung application. An international multi-center clinical trial demonstrated a 325% per-lesion improvement in the early detection of lung cancer (moderate-severe dysplasia and carcinoma in situ) and a 250% per-patient improvement, compared to white-light alone.
Onco-LIFE is approved for sale in the United States for the lung application and in Europe and Canada for both lung and GI applications.
