Company Overview
Willpak Industries was formed in 1976. Initially started as a packaging company expanding in vacuum forming.
In 1977 Willpak Industries purchased Universal Manufacturing who were in vacuum forming and high frequency heat sealing making vinyl roof tops for the automotive industry.
That amalgamation allowed them to develop three present product divisions: 1. Bits & Pieces-Packaged Hardware, 2. Astra Automotive Products, 3. Vacuum Forming Division.
Product Line: ABS and aluminum louvres, ground effects, polyurethane and fibreglass spoilers, running boards, air dams, visors, bug deflectors, sport shields, wheel covers, headlight protectors and trunk liners.
In 1995, we purchased the Hammond Louver Div. from the Highland Group of Solen, Ohio. All equipment & stock has been moved to our Oakville, Ontario plant.
CURRENT GEOGRAPHIC MARKETING ACTIVITY
The project plan allows them to put in their customers hands the tools they need to sell their products.
The application/price lists are distributed to their distributors customers.
They also supply them with catalogues and four colour brochures relating to the different models they produce.
Their P. O. P. displays have been designed to take a minimum of space in the retail store but with the maximum impact. Space is a premium in retail stores.
Their export sales are mainly in the U. S., Puerto Rico, South America and Europe.
In the U. S. they work with independent sales representatives.
They have been restructuring new sales coverage and personnel and with more concentrated coverage they hope to see definite results.
While their sales in the U. S. are national, they only have representation as far as Texas so they are working to improve their sales in the Western U. S.
Sales are made through warehouse distributors, catalogue houses, mass merchandisers and expediters.
Their support programs will consist of: Brochures, Applications & price Lists, '800' Phone Number for the U. S., Media Advertising, Promotional Literature, and Point of purchase Displays.
GEOGRAPHIC MARKETING PRIORITIES/MARKETING STRATEGY
They are very active in Trade Shows. They will be at the Sema International in Las Vegas in 1998.
