Gardner & Associates provides the following metallurgical and technical services. Our fee structure is on an hourly rate plus expenses, including report preparation. Any geographical location can be serviced and travel time is on a reduced hourly rate.
METALLURGY
Complete chemical analysis of all steel products.
Complete mechanical testing to determine the physical properties, f all steel products.
Metallographic evaluations of steel products to determine the cleanliness and grain configurations. This includes the aging effect of prolonged storage.
Surface evaluations of steel products to determine defect cause, severity, tolerance and their effect on End Use.
Complete dimensional evaluations of steel products to determine whether the material is within tolerance of the ordered sizes.
Complete evaluations to determine whether the material is being supplied to the ordered specifications.
Metallographic, chemical or physical analysis to determine the causes of failure, damage or poor performance of steel products.
TECHNICAL SERVICES
Quality Audits of producers or suppliers, to ensure detailed specifications can be obtained on a consistent basis.
Examination of damage steel products to determine the cause of the steel's damage during shipment, either by insufficient or improper packaging, blocking or loading/unloading.
Technical assistance to a steel purchaser in negotiating the specifications, quality and all other related matters with his supplier, to ensure the proper requirements of a purchase.
Technical assistance to a steel supplier in investigating and resolving, quality claims by the Customer.
Technical assistance to an Insurer in providing a Third Party opinion, as to the validity of quality or damage claims.
Acting as an Expert Witness in any steel related legal disputes.
