Western Avionics is Canada's largest independent avionics facility. The company is an authorized distributor and service center for all major avionics & aircraft instruments manufacturers. The company also manufactures and installs transportable runway systems and a variety of ground-based nav-aids.

Western Avionics is an authorized dealer and factory authorized service and warranty center for most major avionics and instruments manufacturers. In 1997 the company was a worldwide Top-10 dealer for manufacturers such as Universal Avionics, and Allied Signal. We specialize in Autopilot, CVR/FDR's, and radar.

Rounding out the capabilities of the department are the engineering/certifications group, and the CAD department. The company holds several Transport Canada STC's for various avionics installations, and has completed numerous LSTC's for one-off installations. The engineering group also provides systems design, flight test engineering, EMI/EMC problem solving and preparation of the maintenance and flight manual supplements.

When transportable runway systems are required, Western Avionics provides complete equipment, materials, and labour to equip an airport for VFR or IFR operations. Customized packages can include runway lighting, air-to-ground communications and DME (Distance Measuring Equipment), NDB (Non- Directional Beacon) and VOR navaids. These packages are relatively inexpensive, easy to setup and remove, and easy to transport. They are an excellent fit for any camp and strip.

With facilities at Calgary International Airport and Vancouver International Airport, Western Avionics is positioned to service its international customers, providing the most up-to-date airport services available. With many operators unable or unwilling to have work completed in Canada, Western Avionics provides its services globally, and has conducted business in several international countries including Brazil, China, France, Malaysia, Switzerland and South Africa.
