Walker Seeds Ltd. is a processing exporter of commercial lentils
and peas for human consumption as well as canaryseed, flaxseed,
and canola (rapeseed) for birdfeed consumption. All export is
for wholesale purchases, product being shipped in bulk or in 50
lb. or 100 lb. bags under the 'W.S.L.' brand name. Walker Seeds
Ltd. has its' own in-house quality control programme that will be
documented by ISO in the near future. Having exported since 1982,
Walker Seeds Ltd. now exports 98% of all the product it
processes. Walker Seeds Ltd. has engaged exclusive agents in
Mexico, Taiwan, Venezuela, Brazil, Colombia, and Italy. However,
in countries like Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, Thailand, Singapore,
Indonesia, Malaysia, Chile, Peru, and Costa Rica Walker Seeds
Ltd. works through agents on a non-exclusive basis. In other
markets such as the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany,
France, and Spain sales are done directly with the importers
and/or through brokers. Walker Seeds Ltd. is currently actively
seeking to develop sales in green and yellow split peas as well
as oat groats to facilitate production in 1998/99 from a new pea
splitting plant as well as a new oats processing plant currently
under construction. In addition, expanded sales are welcomed of
all products in markets where exclusive sales are not appointed.

Walker Seeds Ltd. is an established Canadian exporter of special
crops for human consumption and birdfeed consumption.
Walker Seeds Ltd. maintains three divisions-Special Crops,
Pedigreed Seed, and Oilseeds. The special crops are marketed
through North American exporters or directly into foreign
consumptive markets. The pedigreed seed division carries out
domestic retail and wholesale distribution of pedigreed cereals,
pulses and oilseeds grown on Walker farms and/or produced by
other seed farms in Western Canada. The oilseed division provides
a marketing service for Saskatchewan farmers who are looking for
marketing alternatives.
Walker Seeds Ltd. is wholly owned by Walker Northeast Farms Ltd.
and Walker Land and Farming Ltd. The farm acreage produces
oilseeds, cereals, and pulses-both commercial and pedigreed seed
production on over 4,000 acres of land.
The company specializes in edible peas and lentils, as well as
birdfeeds for export. the edible products consist of different
varieties of yellow peas, green peas, green lentils, flaxseed,
marrowfat peas, fababeans and oats. Commodities such as
canaryseed, maple peas, trapper peas, flaxseed and canola
(rapeseed) are marketed as birdfeeds.
Walker Seeds Ltd. also provides a broad spectrum of quality seeds
of the highest purity possible for Saskatchewan's pedigreed seed
markets - inclusive of the latest varieties of peas, lentils,
canaryseed, canola, flaxseed, wheat, barley and oats.
