WESTEST
Western Canada Testing, (WESTEST) is a provider of physical testing services to the agricultural, automotive, transportation, construction, forestry, and mining industries. WESTEST staff can measure field data and use it to test components or whole machines in their field simulation lab. Some services are portable and can be performed on-site.
Areas of expertise include:
Load and vibration simulation Noise and vibration control Sound analysis Stress measurement and analysis Load and fatigue testing Field data acquisition Standards and regulatory compliance testing Safe working load tests Design qualification and verification testing Wire rope testing Intermediate Bulk Container testing
WESTEST is the only test lab in Canada that specializes in IBC testing, and has established itself as the premier IBC test lab in North America. Manufacturers from across Canada and the USA use their services. More recently, customers from Brazil, the Phillippines, Korea, and Japan have sent their products for testing at WESTEST. Visitors from Turkey, Chile, and Mexico have toured their facility and contracted with them.
Interested individuals can call and request information brochures or videos on IBC testing. WESTEST welcomes strategic alliances with organizations that are mutually complementary.

Provider of testing services to the manufacturing industry. WESTEST established the Packaging Engineering Division. Subsequent certification by Transport Canada, the United States Department of Transport, and the United Nations has led to the establishment of WESTEST as the premier testing lab for hazardous goods IBC testing in North America. WESTEST contributes toward the safe transport of hazardous goods across our roads, rails and oceans.
Services
Physical Testing
Physical, standards and compliance testing services for the
transportation, agricultural, industrial, mining, and forestry
equipment manufacturing industries.
Packaging Testing - Compliance, Hazardous Goods, Dangerous Goods, Non-bulk, Preshipment
Standards and compliance testing of bulk, non-bulk, preshipment,
hazardous, and dangerous goods packaging.
Scientific And Technical Services
WESTEST is an industrial testing facility established to provide
manufacturers with advanced product development services.
WESTEST has specialized facilities to help solve engineering
problems in three primary areas: force and vibration simulation,
noise and vibration control, and stress measurement and analysis.
Various configurations of these services combine to provide:
vibration and fatigue analysis, durability trials, sound and
noise level measurement, noise emission source determination,
machine health diagnostics, stress measurement and standards
testing.
Machine specimens and components up to 35,000 lbs (with an
additional 16,000 lbs pre-load) can be loaded and tested for
structural integrity.
Leading edge sound analysis technology allows for portable
assessment of noise characteristics in ambient noise
environments, determination of structure borne noise, and contour
mapping for sound intensity purposes.
WESTESTs stress measurement and analysis service can measure
strains and stress under applied loads through the use of brittle
coating and strain gauge application. Software is available to
provide for further analysis and fatigue prediction.
Projects range from specific problem solving tasks to complete
project management. WESTEST is experienced in working together
with partners to provide targeted engineering and physical
testing services.
Noise & Vibration Control
Leading edge sound analysis technology allows for portable
assessment of noise characteristics in ambient noise
environments, determination of structure borne noise, and contour
mapping for sound intensity purposes.
Stress Measurement & Analysis

additional 16,000 lbs pre-load) can be loaded and tested for
structural integrity.
Wire Rope Testing
Electro-magnetic wire rope testing allows for safety and
integrity inspection of wire ropes used in the mining industry
without damaging or dismantling the rope.
Mower Testing
Industrial and agricultural mower safety testing to SAE standard
J232, current ASAE standard.
Eurocompliance
Provides machinery manufacturers with technical assistance with
meeting the Machinery Directive(law).
