Virtek Vision International Inc.

Virtek Vision International Inc. is a Canadian high technology company that designs, manufactures, markets, and distributes precision laser templating, inspection, marking and engraving solutions for industrial material processing. Virtek serves customers in the prefabricated construction, transportation, metalworking, tool and die and mold making industries, worldwide. The Companys solutions enable customers to produce their products faster, better and at a lower cost.

As a system provider, Virtek supplies laser inspection and templating systems to customers in the transportation, prefabricated construction, metalworking and gasket industries.

The Companys laser inspection systems quickly scan flat parts and translate the images into computer files. Each file can be compared to the parts original computer-based drawing to determine whether the item has been manufactured to specification. Alternatively, the file can be used to operate cutting and forming equipment to exactly replicate that specific component (a process known as reverse engineering). This equipment is exact to a high tolerance, and is sold to manufacturers of precision components for the computer, automotive, telecommunications, gasket and related industries.

The Companys laser templating systems translate computer-generated files into visible images that aid in the precise layup of parts and components. For the transportation industry, Virteks systems assist in the layup of composite ply materials used to manufacture aircraft components. New aircraft and defence programs are drivers of increased composite use and are fuelling Virteks growth in this market. The industry is increasing its use of composites, as they are lighter and stronger than aluminum components. In the prefabricated construction industry, Virteks templating systems are used to project visible templates that assist in the set up of prefabricated roof trusses and wall and floor panels. These fast and accurate templates substantially reduce manufacturers setup time, thereby dramatically increasing output capacity. The construction industrys increasing use of prefabricated building components such as roof trusses (as opposed to manually building them on-site) is driving Virteks growth in this sector. The prefabricated construction industry also includes material processing systems utilizing automated saws, producing a
system that precisely moves, laser marks and cuts wall panel components for easier assembly and identification.

The Company provides laser marking and engraving systems to a variety of industries. Key markets are plastic marking for the automotive industry, deep engraving systems to the tool and mold industries and identity cards.

The marking segment has a diverse number of applications. On a simplistic basis, a laser mark can be used where conventional methods are either too time consuming or not accurate enough. In the automotive industry, laser marking is used for manufacturing day/night switches and displays to be used throughout the vehicle. Backlighted components for the automobile interior are spray painted plastic parts, on which the desired symbol is generated by precise laser removal of the paint coat. In addition certain components of the vehicle, such as glass and plastic, require specific marks that can be accomplished with a laser marker.

Virteks systems offer advanced laser technology for a range of engraving or micro-machining applications that require speed, accuracy, permanence and the highest quality. The key to the application is enabling the customer to increase throughput while still maintaining the highest level of quality.

Our product lines include OEM systems for integration into manufacturing lines, turnkey laser marking units for manual workstations and special machines and deep engraving systems for the tool and mold industry.
