Environmental Management System (ems) Based On Iso 14001.
EMS is based on five basic management principles: policy; planning; implementing; measuring and monitoring; and reporting. Viridis Environmental Inc. of Ottawa has assisted public and private sector organizations in assessing their EMS needs, using the International Organization for Standardization's ISO 14001 standard as a benchmark. Worldwide, companies which have embraced this standard are increasingly requiring ISO 14001 certification as a condition of doing business, and an effective, efficient EMS is the only proof of due diligence with respect to environmental accidents. Viridis conducts a thorough review of the organization and its management structure. This involves interviewing representatives of the organization to identify environmental management concerns and processes, as well as a review of relevant documentation and policy statements. This allows Viridis to gain a comprehensive understanding of the organization's operations and technical processes so that environmental concerns can be readily flagged. Following the review process, Viridis conducts a gap analysis to determine the status of the organization's EMS with respect to ISO 14001, and outlines the steps which need to be taken to ensure its timely implementation. Viridis' training services on ISO 14001 help those who are working on ISO 14001 internally.

Water Audits, Development And Implementation Of Water Reduction Workplans.
We can help facilities to reduce their water consumption and save money. Water audits involve several steps which include the a) preliminary evaluation of the facility, b) determination of water distribution, c) determination of water balance, and d) water efficiency monitoring. With these results, Viridis can develop a water reduction workplan. The workplan will include the considerations of setting targets for reduction in water consumption, awareness programs to educate the users and the equipment required to meet the targets. Viridis works with their clients to how the plans and strategies will be implemented.

Waste Audits, Waste Reduction Action Plans, Implementation Of Recycling Programs.
We offer waste management services to a variety of sectors, ranging from office facilities to residential neighbourhoods under municipal government. Most waste generated can either be reduced by modifying procurement practices, or recycled through diversion programs. Viridis Environmental Inc.'s solution to generation of solid non-hazardous waste typically involves a three phase process. Initially, an audit of the waste generation and composition is conducted. This audit enables companies to understand where waste is generated within the facility, and which items are most significant. With these results, Viridis works with the client to establish a waste reduction work plan. This plan sets targets for diversion, and includes consideration of the availability of recycling markets in the region, communication and awareness requirements, contract negotiations for waste removal, and equipment required to meet the targets. The final phase is the actual implementation of the waste reduction program. Viridis Environmental Inc. works with the client to ensure a smooth transition into the new system, and to monitor the results of the reduction, reuse, and recycling (3Rs hierarchy) efforts. This same process can also be applied to waste generated from new construction, renovations, or demolitions. The goal is to identify and implement cost-effective solutions to existing waste management practices.
