University of Lethbridge
The University of Lethbridge (U of L) is a mid-sized arts and
science-centred university offering a personal, flexible and
friendly education experience. The University pursues
collaborative research with two federal agriculture research
stations in Lethbridge. In the last year, U of L has strengthened
ties to community colleges by offering collaborative programs in
nursing and health sciences (addictions), as well as post-diploma
programs in management, environmental science, art, music, drama,
nursing and agricultural studies. There are excellent research
opportunities for faculty and students which are enhanced by
extensive classroom and extra-curricular activities.
The University has five faculties and schools to choose from, the
Faculty of Arts and Science, the Faculty of Education, the
Faculty of Management, the School of Fine Arts, and the School of
Health Sciences. With the diversity in teaching, the University
can offer smaller classes and a focus on undergraduate teaching
give students access to faculty members with national and
international reputations. Undergraduates have opportunities to
be involved in the research and scholarship of faculty, and
benefit from extensive practicums and professional development
programs. The cooperative education programs in management, arts
and science are well-established and expanding.
