United Way of Greater Victoria
United Way of Greater Victoria is a non-profit organization
that raises and distributes funds and/or provides non-financial
support services to 39 health and social service agencies in the
Capital Regional District, from Sooke to Sidney and the
Gulf Islands. One in three people in the Greater Victoria
area use the services of a United Way agency. By surveying
agencies and individuals in our community, United Way has
identified five key social areas that most people feel should be
given the highest priority. They are: Poverty; Violence in
Society; Family Stress and Breakdown; Isolation & Loneliness;
and Substance Abuse. United Way agencies help us all.
