Unicel Inc., founded in 1964, specializes in the manufacture
of glazed aluminum structures such as skylights, curtain walls,
contemporary sunrooms, Victorian conservatories, door inserts,
and window systems for the residential, commercial, and insti-
tutional markets.
In addition, Unicel Inc. has developed VISION CONTROL - a glazing
product that incorporates operable aluminum louvers hermetically
sealed between insulating glass of various shapes and types, and
actuating without cords and strings, manually or by motorization.
CURRENT GEOGRAPHIC MARKETING ACTIVITY
The major market for VISION CONTROL is the United States, mostly
for institutional applications. Unicel works through
manufacturers'agents who call on architects, specifiers, and
interior designers.
Unicel Inc. also advertises in trade magazines (Architectural
Record, Health Facilities Management) and maintains its
participation in the GBR Sweet's Catalogue.
Outside North America, Unicel is represented by Vitrea Oy in
Finland and Scandinavia, Tostem Corp. in Japan, Chung Tai Metal
Co. Ltd. in Taiwan and Diethelm Industries Pte Ltd. in Singapore.
Elsewhere in Asia, Unicel is actively engaging in projects,
although still at their design stage, in the Hong Kong and
Chinese markets. In the middle east, while Saudi Arabia is
covered by Al Mayssan Development and Contracting Co. Ltd.,
Unicel continues to look for more representatives in the Arabic
Peninsula, where Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates are being
seriously considered.
GEOGRAPHIC MARKETING PRIORITIES/MARKETING STRATEGY
The U.S. market is prevailing in Unicel's strategy towards future
expansion. The manufacturers' agent network only covers 33
states. Unicel is seeking representation in the following areas:
New York City, Upstate New York (Albany, Buffalo, Rochester),
Pennsylvania, Washington State, Florida, and Illinois (Chicago).

types. The VISION CONTROL concept was created to control energy
and light through manually operated or motorized louvers. The

fading caused by ultra-violet rays, total or partial privacy.
Moreover, the blinds are cord-free and dust-free. VISION CONTROL
