ORB Tech was founded in 1992 in response to business
opportunities created by larger firms who found it more
effective to contract out product management of items that were
maturing in their product life cycle and products that had
become peripheral to their core business. ORB Tech offers lower
phase-out costs as it is better suited to handle small
production runs, inventory management and product support for
these items.

The company has enjoyed steady growth and the continuing loyalty
of its customers and is currently achieving annual sales of
$5 million. ORB Tech employs 45 people including 9 in
engineering, management and administration. The company
recently moved to St. Eustache, north of Montreal.

ORB Tech has been certified to CSA, UL and ISO 9002 standards
since 1994 and has demonstrated its ability to become a
certified supplier to large multinational high-technology firms.
Quality at ORB Tech is further enhanced by the use of
statistical process control and the use of computerized
manufacturing aids.


CAPABILITIES

Manufacturing

ORB Techs manufacturing capability includes developing,
designing, engineering as well as manufacturing and testing
to customer specifications:

-wire and cable harnesses

-electronic and electrical subassemblies

-fully assembled control and test panels

-custom-designed black boxes

ORB Tech uses production methods such as JIT and KANBAN when
required by customers.

Calibration

ORB Tech offers repair and calibration of electronic test and
measurement instruments such as:
-meters and counters

-scopes and other instrumentation

-generators and power supplies

The company also specializes in the refurbishment and upgrading
of these products.
Our calibration service is traceable to NRC standards and we
currently cover the frequency range from DC to Microwave
frequencies.

Repair and Test of Telecom and Fiber Optics Equipment

ORB Tech is certified by several key telecom firms to service
various proprietary equipment and electronic devices such as
modems.
