Since 1970, TPM (P. M. transformers) manufactures medium voltage class current transformers for protection and metering purposes. These units are made for indoor or outdoor application in switchgear and distribution systems. We specialize in custom-built replacement transformers for refurbished powerhouses. When custom built current transformers are involved, the cost of installation is reduced because they fit to the main bus or mounting plate without any undue changes.
In the last five years, TPM has put the accent on custom built replacement transformers for refurbished powerhouses. The primary advantage of the TPM units, is the flexibility of instal- lation on the main bus or mounting plate without undue changes, especially when split-phase current transformers are in place. Though using these types of transformers improve the efficiency of the protection in the generator and prolonging its lifetime expectancy by indicating if their is one single coil in fault inside the generator.

Insulation class: 0, 6 kV up to 35 kV.
Allows the controllers to be aware of the flow of current between the total output of the generator, the switchgear and the entry of the substation distribution. If one of these areas does not match the flow of current, the protection relay will trip.
The precision classes for transformers used for protection varies from C10 to C1200. For metering purposes the precision varies from 1.2B0.1 to 0.3B1.8 with one or two secondary outputs of 5 amps and a maximum ratio of 15, 000/5 amps with or without multi- ratio. It should be noted that the secondary output may be of any value while still maintaining the standard codes.
Insulation class: 5kV up to 36 kV.
Can be retrofit into any kind of substation circuit breakers and keep our clients well protected on all their departure line.
Current transformers Indoor: split-phase, line and load side breakers, differential and auxiliary, substations circuit breakers Outdoor: station breakers, neutral
Allows you to have a constant diagnostic on every single coil in the stator of your generator. It will detect any coils coming short. Custom-built manufactured according to engineering specifications.
