TerrAtlantic Engineering Limited is an employee-owned consulting engineering firm providing environmental, geotechnical and hydrogeological services to clients across Atlantic Canada. These clients include those in industry and in federal, provincial and municipal governments. Services are also provided to property developers and managers, and to law firms, financial institutions, educational facilities, insurance agencies, architects and other engineers. The firm is registered with APEGNB and its engineers with APEGNB, APENS, APEGN and the State of Maine.

TerrAtlantic's services are as follows:

Environmental - work is undertaken at contaminated sites across Atlantic Canada, including private dwellings, military bases, rail yards, petroleum storage facilities and gas stations. Detailed environmental assessments are conducted at existing and proposed landfill sites, as well as at power plants and mining operations. TerrAtlantic's environmental services include:

phase I, II, III site assessment;

test pitting, drilling, groundwater monitoring;

air, soil, rock and water sampling;

risk assessment (including Atlantic RBCA);

spill response, soil remediation, site clean-up and decommissioning;

groundwater treatment systems (pump and treat, vapour extraction, air stripping, carbon adsorption, etc.);

environmental impact assessment;

landfill closure;

brownfields development; and site management with GIS;

Geotechnical - TerrAtlantic's geotechnical engineers have evaluated soil and rock conditions at numerous sites across Atlantic Canada. The geotechnical services include:

site investigation, drilling, sampling and testing;

soil and rock mechanics, engineering geology mapping;

foundation assessment, determination of allowable bearing pressures;

settlement calculation, slope/excavation stability analysis, earthwork design;

geophysical surveys, terrain evaluation and mapping, air photo interpretation; and aggregate evaluation.

Hydrogeology - TerrAtlantic's employees have been involved with all aspects of the groundwater resource, from its supply and protection, to its remediation. With respect to water supply, the company's hydrogeologists have evaluated high capacity overburden and bedrock aquifers across Atlantic Canada, have designed and implemented groundwater exploration programs, and have supervised the construction and testing of production wells. The staff has been involved in the municipal aquifer planning process, participating in on-going discussions between the regulators and industry. TerrAtlantic's hydrogeological services include:

water supply evaluation and exploration;

test drilling and pump testing;

aquifer protection; recharge/discharge mapping;

water quality monitoring;

contaminant fate and transport assessment; and analytical and numerical modelling.
