The Institute's Programs TEMIC's specialized seminar, for executives and senior managers, covers the following topics: Telecommunications network planning and management, technology development, sector policy and regulation, transition management, customer services, rural telecommunications, marketing and sales as well as overview of financial and human resources management. The following two-week seminars are available: Telecommunications Senior Management; Rural Telecommunications Management; Strategic Management in Telecommunications; Telecommuncations Policy, Regulation and Transition Management; Telecommunications Management in the New Environment; Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Development and Management; and Universal Access Program. The importance of Total Quality Management (TQM) for telecommunications organizations is now being recognized around the world. Every seminar contains a TQM component that includes several practical examples particular to the telecommunications carrier industry as well as the review of an actual transformation plan to TQM. For the different modules of a specific seminar, subject matter experts are loaned to the Institute from Member-organizations. This approach offers the advantages of presenting various views on a particular subject, and from time to time, of hearing different opinions from competing companies. The basic forms of training include traditional classroom settings, computer model case study, international forum exchange, demonstrations on-site. The Institute offers generally four seminars annually.
