Government of Canada or the privatized corporation in the

acquisition transactions involving residents of many countries
and spanning diverse industries both regulated and unregulated.

The firm has a rapidly expanding International Advisory Services
group centered in its Montreal office, which systematically
pursues international legal consulting mandates. Of particular
interest to the International Advisory Services group are major
international infrastructure or privatization projects employing
innovative financing techniques with particular emphasis on the
energy, mining, environmental, telecommunications and water
sectors.

connection with the restructuring of electrical utilities,
privatization of generation and distribution and regional
interconnection of electricity transmission facilities;
The Government of Chad in connection with the private
development of oil fields and the construction of a pipeline to
the Atlantic coast of Cameroon;
The Government of Guinea in connection with the reform of
legislation governing mining;
The Government of the State of Gujarat, India in connection
with the reform of electricity legislation and regulation;
The Government of the State of Kerala, India in connection with
the reform of its electricity sector;
The Government of the State of Tamil Nadu, India in connection
with the BOO development of thermal power plants;

The Government of Bahrain in connection with the BOO
development of a thermal electricity plant;
The Government of Bolivia in the privatization of mines and
mineral processing plants;
A multi-national mining company in connection with a joint
venture with a state enterprise to explore and develop nickel
deposits in the Caribbean;
The Government of the State of Rajasthan, India in connection
with the development of BOT thermal power stations and coal
mines;
The Government of Laos in connection with the establishment of
a national grid company to export electricity over high-voltage
transmission lines;
The Government of Morocco in connection with the reform of
electricity legislation;
The Government of Panama in connection with the reform of its
electricity sector and the privatization of transmission
companies.

The Government of Bangladesh in its negotiations with
private-sector investors in industry;
The Government of Burkina Faso in connection with the reform of
legislation governing the mining sector;
The Government of the Republic of Niger in connection with the
BOOT development of a hydro-electric project;
The Government of the Republic of Niger with respect to the
privatization of the Socit Nigrienne d'lectricit;
The Government of the Republic of Niger with respect to a study
on the creation of a new company which would manage the import,
storage and transportation of petroleum products;
The Government of the Russian Federation in connection with the
reform of the electricity sector of that country;
The Government of Venezuela in connection with a study on costs
and tariffs for the electricity sector of that country.
