Full Text:
The trade globalization and the standardization of free-trade agreements represent a strong opportunity for consulting companies such as Steve Woloz Associates, Inc.. In fact, as China and other developing countries arise as major competitors worldwide, all companies are presented with both threats and opportunities.
The threats they are confronted with is that they must work even more effectively to maintain existing sales, both in their local as well as foreign markets.
The opportunities that they are presented with are that they may develop increased sales in both their local and foreign markets.
The challenge that they are faced with is that in order to survive this global restructuring, they are increasingly compelled to upgrade their management processes and marketing strategies. Thus, they need the guidance and support from consulting companies with solid experience and expertise in international markets who are qualified to guide them through their path to New Markets, wherever in the Globe that this may be.
After working with companies from across Canada for close to 30 years, Steve Woloz Associates Inc. have recognized a distinct opportunity to assist the developing nations in Central and South America. Countries with whom SWA has worked include Honduras, Barbados, Guyana, and most recently Colombia South America. These are nations who recognize the need to improve their global competitiveness in light of the elimination of quotas and duties hastened by WTO 2005. Building strong relationships has won Steve Woloz Associates, Inc. a world of opportunities in these countries.
The Montreal, Que.-based management consulting company assists SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) and industry consortiums in increasing their global competitiveness by helping them in developing successful strategic plans, improving their operational productivity levels and enhancing their management of Human Resources.
In order to enter the foreign markets, Steve Woloz Associates have chosen to approach the local companies as business partners rather than mere consultants looking for contracts. They were prepared to share the pain during the hard times, with potential rewards to come with the lions share of future consulting assignments. This approach was made possible by being on site with the clients very often and ensuring that professional fees are not a stumbling block for their success. Being on site allowed Steve Woloz Associates to identify opportunities for helping clients and selling new consulting assignments that simply could not be observed from the outside.
In order to establish strong relationships in South America, the president of Steve Woloz Associates, Mr. Steve Woloz, delivers seminars and conferences on productivity / quality improvement concepts implementation and countrywide strategies for international business development:
XWorkshops on Value Added Manufacturing for the Barbados Manufacturers at the invitation of the Barbados Industrial Development Corporation (BIDC) XSeminars on Caribbean Regional HRD Program for Economic Competitiveness for the Guyana Manufacturers Association XSeminars on ISO 9000: 2000 at the invitation of the Canada Honduras Chamber of Commerce
This business development strategy has proven successful. This is reflected through new contracts, among which a global project in Colombia to train industrial engineers, consultants, factory managers, job trainers and supervisors on world competition and productivity improvement. The project was financed by the Banco Interamericano and is expected to be completed by August 2004. Steve Woloz Associates strong relationships in that region allowed them to win the contract against other major consulting firms such as Connors and TC2. Another contract was signed with the Cree Nation and financed by CHRDC. The project included three aspects: the implementation of ISO 9000 certification for companies involved in roads, forestry and general management, the development of Human resources management policies, and microcomputer training.
The expertise and experience gained by Steve Woloz Associates, Inc. through their international projects has allowed them to improve the services they offer to Canadian companies. In fact, their knowledge of international competition and markets gives their Canadian clients an added advantage when bidding for worldwide contracts.
