The BGAN Physical Layer Tester (BPLT) is a software application that runs on the generic high-rate Physical Layer Tester (PLTH) platform. The BPLT supports the testing of physical layer performance and protocol implementation of Radio Access Nodes (RANs) and User Terminals (UTs) implementing Inmarsats Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) service.
Inmarsat Aeronautical Ground Data Units (GDUs) are used to supervise the testing of Aeronautical Earth Stations (AESs) against requirements in the Inmarsat Aeronautical System Definition Manual (SDM) and to permit monitoring of Ground Earth Station (GES) and AES performance in an operational system.
The MPLT replaces Inmarsat's previous Earth Station Test Set (ESTS). It provides Land Earth Station (LES), Mobile Earth Station (MES), and Network Co-ordination Station (NCS) simulation functions, to enable manufacturers to develop and test their MES and LES implementations of the mini-M/M4 system. The MPLT implements the communication channels required to allow the PTT to verify the correct operation of the LES or MES under test. The channels are implemented at IF for LES testing and at L-band for MES testing. The signaling information and user data carried on the channels is normally generated and analyzed by a Protocol Tester. In addition, the MPLT can generate and analyze the signaling information and user data locally, and SCPC user data can be generated and analyzed by external test sets. The MPLT provides a comprehensive scripting language to allow operation in the absence of the PTT. The MPLT provides the additional capabilities of introducing selectable channel impairments into the transmitted signals, and of analyzing the characteristics of the received signals.
The Physical Layer Tester implements the Inmarsat Packet Data Service (IPDS) channels at L-Band to allow communication between the Protocol Tester and the MES under test. In addition, it analyzes the characteristics of the channels received from the MES, and allows channel impairments to be introduced into the channels provided to the MES, to verify compliance with the IPDS performance specifications.
This product interfaces with the on-board nav and radio of a mobile platform to provide position and status of other linked platforms. Canadian Coastguard has purchased 80 NavLinks and installed these on its helicopters, ships and aircraft. ConnectIT Category Description: TRANSPORTATION Maritime Transport

The Transmit Subsystem (TxS) is a generic, high-availability platform for satellite and wireless communication hubs.
Using the TxS platform, SPCI can quickly and efficiently deliver a satellite or wireless base station solution for any application, with minimal development risk and cost.
The TxS is based on commercial off-the-shelf Compact PCI architecture. Each Compact PCI system is populated with a CPU and a number of SPCI proprietary IF Modem cards that implement the application wireless or satellite channels. IF Modems are DSP-based, allowing them to support a wide variety of channel types, modulation schemes and data rates.
