Solinst has manufactured high quality hydrogeological instrumentation in Ontario, Canada since 1975. It is used in wells and open water, for site characterization studies, long-term groundwater monitoring programs, spill investigations, hazardous materials storage monitoring, landfill and waste site monitoring, mine water monitoring, salt water intrusion studies, potable water recharge area studies, and groundwater remediation. Instruments are designed to obtain groundwater samples, data on water levels, hydraulic parameters and some water quality parameters.
Standard instruments are made routinely for stock, and customized items can be made to suit particular needs. A strong commitment to research and development and a close association with the Waterloo Centre of Groundwater Research at the University of Waterloo, Canada keeps the Solinst range of groundwater monitoring instrumentation at the forefront of technological advances.
Primary Product Offering: The Solinst range of high quality groundwater monitoring instruments includes: water level data loggers with AMPS, GSM and radio telemetry systems; water quality dataloggers; water level indicators; oil/water interface probes; multilevel groundwater monitoring systems, including the CMT Multilevel System which is ideal for quickly identifying the core of a contaminant plume such as an MTBE plume, to enable remediation efforts to be more accurately focussed. The Waterloo Multilevel System can go to greater depths than the CMT System and can be manufactured all in stainless steel and Teflon if required.
Other groundwater samplers include the Integra Bladder Pump which gives the most accurate samples for analysis of volatile organic content (VOC); a custom-designed field Peristaltic Pump for simple sampling up to the lift limit; the WaTerra inertial pump for low-cost dedicated sampling; a discrete interval sampler for obtaining representative groundwater samples from below oil layers or for obtaining samples of the hydrocarbon product layers themselves; point source bailers, drive-point piezometers, and low-pressure packers and filters. All Solinst instrumentation is designed to be practical, easy-to-use and highly accurate, with both portable and dedicated equipment available.

Solinst is well established in Canada and the USA. Agents are established in many European countries, much of the Middle East, Asia, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and most South American countries. In other countries where Solinst has not yet established an agent, we are happy to sell directly to final users but would also like to hear from any company wishing to represent us, preferably companies with hydrogeological or hydrological knowledge. Solinst does not see Joint Ventures as a workable option at this time.

Solinst Groundwater Samplers.
Solinst offers a wide range of groundwater samplers for any application. From pumps that meet the highest U.S. EPA standards for groundwater monitoring through a portable, submersible Grundfos, to a low cost dedicated sampling pump. Virtually any sampling need can be met. Capabilities include sampling depths up to and exceeding 2,000 ft. (600 m) and in tubes as narrow as 3/8' (1.9 cm).
The Discrete Interval Sampler collects samples from specific depths within monitoring wells with minimal disturbance, offering samples from below oil/product layers, DNAPL sampling and from discrete inflows in boreholes.
Packers are also available. Waterloo Drive-Point Piezometers enable economic groundwater sampling in suitable soils without a drill rig. The stainless steel tip connects to LDPE or Teflon (TM) tubing for optimal sample integrity.
Solinst Water Level Meter And Conductivity Profiler, Level Loggers.
The Solinst Model 101 water level meter is ruggedly designed to withstand field use in wells. Constructed of a sturdy, easy-to-manage reel and a stranded stainless steel reinforced, permanently marked tape, Solinst water level meters are available for depths up to 3,000 ft. (900 m).
The Model 101-P4 is extremely versatile for the field professional. The P4 Water Level sleeve provides very accurate water level readings, with excellent shielding from false signals in cascading water. The C4 Conductivity Sleeve fits over the water level electrode for downhole conductivity profiling, and is useful in identifying salt water intrusions or in providing an indication of contaminant levels in the groundwater. Analog conductivity readings are delivered by the readout unit which plugs into the faceplate of the reel. A Temperature Sleeve is also available.
The Solinst water level meter and its accessory sleeves give an ideal combination of a sturdy, everyday water level meter and a handy conductivity/temperature profiler at reasonable cost when needed.
Waterloo Multilevel System.
This is ideal for acquiring data on groundwater located in bedrock or in overburden. Permanent and removable systems are available. The System minimizes the number of boreholes required to obtain hydraulic parameters and groundwater samples. It also enables groundwater professionals to obtain three dimensional groundwater information, without the cost of drilling many single monitoring wells.
The flexible, modular system can be adapted to the individual needs of each application. Engineered seals prevent cross-flow between monitoring zones. This cross-contamination may be further avoided by the availability of dedicated monitoring instruments. Both these features can dramatically reduce the ongoing cost of field time. Removable systems with pneumatic packers are also available.
