  The IONSCAN is a non-invasive trace chemical detector which effectively detects explosives and narcotics, whether concealed in luggage, parcels or cargo, as traces on people or documents, or in other security applications. It utilizes advanced ion mobility spectrometry techniques to detect even low vapour pressure compounds such as plastic explosives and narcotic hydrochlorides. Samples are conveniently collected by swiping or vacuuming suspected items or surfaces with small handheld samplers, allowing flexible access to remote or difficult areas. Analysis in the detector unit is fast (less than eight seconds), and results are immediately displayed. Up to 45 compounds can be programmed into the IONSCAN for simultaneous detection, and found substances are identified by name, enabling immediate, optimum responses by the users. It utilizes advanced ion mobility spectrometry techniques to effectively detect even low vapour pressure compounds such as plastic explosives and narcotic hydrochlorides.

  Samples are conveniently collected by swiping or vacuuming suspected items or surfaces with small hand held samplers, allowing flexible access to remote or difficult areas. Analysis in the detector unit requires only minimal sample preparation and is extremely fast (less than eight seconds), and results are immediately displayed. Target compounds are detected by ions produced from them which possess characteristic drift times in an electric field. Up to 45 Channels can be programmed into the IONSCAN for simultaneous detection, and found substances are identified by name, to enable immediate responses by the users.
