AEG Aktiengesellschaft of Germany representing a Canadian manufacturing base in the electronics and electro-mechanical fields. In 1986, Bayly Engineering Limited changed its name to AEG Bayly Inc. to more clearly reflect its status as a member of the AEG group. In January 1991 the firm focused its efforts on the postal automation field and again changed its name to AEG Sorting Systems Inc. (ASSI). In 1997 the company was acquired by Siemens and subsequently changed the name to Siemens ElectroCom Sorting Systems Inc. On October 1, 1998, the company became a division of Siemens Canada Limited and changed its name to Siemens Canada Limited, Production and Logistics Systems Division.
