Shred-Tech offers engineering consulting services solutions to recycling & reduction challenges. System layout designs complete with detailed equipment specifications can be provided.
We has engineered the development of a Carpet Recycling Pilot Plant used to reclaim individual carpet components for the production of alternate products.
The pilot project is the result of a partnership between Shred-Tech and BASF (a supplier of pre-coloured and natural nylon yarns to the carpet manufacturing industry) and their efforts to establish an effective recycling program for used carpeting. Shred-Tech has developed an integrated carpet recycling system to reclaim post consumer carpeting. The carpet is reduced and separated into individual components ready for further processing. The reclaimed nylon component of the carpet can be manufactured into parts for the automotive industry.
We custom designs and manufactures hazardous waste reduction systems which allow for the safe handling and disposal of a wide variety of hazardous materials. Site remediation is made possible through the reduction of containers and contents including steel drums, capacitors, transformers and other hazardous materials. Products such as automobile oil filters may also be shredded. The oil can be recovered and the filter's metal carcass is recycled.
Shred-Tech has recently installed a hazardous waste system for Booy Clean of Belgium, one of Europe's largest waste management companies specializing in the safe processing of dangerous materials generated by industry and municipalities. Once shredded, waste is further processed for recycling or incineration. With Shred-Tech's proven and reliable shredding and material handling technology, Booy Clean has processed a variety of hazardous materials with substantial economic payback. Shred-Tech's staff of professional engineers has integrated electrical and mechanical explosion proof components for safe equipment operation.
Shred-Tech's hazardous waste processing systems are in use worldwide and include installations employed by the U. S. Army, Laidlaw Environmental (Canada) and Sakab Ab (Sweden).
Shred-Tech manufactures a fully integrated Mobile Document Destruction System for on-site security document shredding. Entrepreneurs, realizing this excellent business opportunity, offer on-site Security Shredding to Banks, Hospitals, Manufacturers etc..
Three years ago, the Government of Jersey (UK) purchased an 400 HP hydraulic low speed shredder from Shred-Tech Ltd. The shredder is capable of sizing 20 tonnes of material per hour, thereby allowing the island to size 100% of their industrial, commercial and residential waste for incineration. This is a safe (no risk of explosion) and cost efficient (including capital cost and ongoing maintenance) solution to a waste disposal problem.
The shredder has now been in use for over three years with performance above expectations and maintenance lower than expected.
Custom engineered systems reduce & separate co-mingle materials to allow for efficient processing of recyclable materials. Items such as carpet, Tetra Pak containers, oil filters, etc. are separated into these individual components ready for further processing.
