Shiatsu Academy of Tokyo
Located in Toronto, Ontario, Shiatsu Academy of Tokyo operates
as a Private Vocational School under the Ontario Ministry of
Education and Training. The Academy is also a member of the
National and Ontario Association of Career College. The Academy
is under the direction of Kensen Saito, who studied in Japan with
the founder of Shiatsu, Tokujiro Namikoshi Sensei.
Our curriculum includes Shiatsu History, Theory & Technique,
Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Nutrition, Self Care, Ethics,
Communications, Massage and Natural Therapies & Business.
The urbanization of our complex society has resulted in increased
stress being placed upon the individual. Concurrently, recent
surveys show that the public wants to be involved with the
preventive aspects of health care. There is a growing demand for
hands-on therapists and possibilities for employment exist in
practically any urban setting for graduates to open Shiatsu
clinics on their own, or in association with other modalities.
