Seaspans services extend as far south as Mexico and as far north as Alaska, providing water transportation for industrial materials. Seaspan serves the forest industry primarily, transporting logs, lumber, lumber residuals, petroleum products, chemicals, pulp, and paper to and from coastal mills. Also, oceangoing barges haul limestone, aggregates, railcars, steel components, gypsum, and general cargoes including prefabricated structures. In addition to marine transportation, Seaspan performs shipdocking and bunkering in the Port of Vancouver and Roberts Bank.
Seaspans tugs range in power from 600 to 6, 000 horsepower and its barge fleet is the largest and most diversified in North America. The company also operates 20, 000-ton self-loading, self-dumping log barges, the largest in the world.
