Seaforth provides total environmental mitigation solutions for small hydro-electric generating facilities. Downstream mitigation systems typically entail the use of bypass structures for both penstock and open channel flow upstream of turbine intakes. Fish are bypassed away from the turbine intake while maintaining adequate flow for optimum turbine operation. Fish are diverted to a discharge channel enabling their continued downstream migration with negligible impact. Upstream migration and facility bypass sytems include fish ladder systems, fish elevators, and turbine discharge diversion systems.
Seaforth total solutions and services also include licensing and regulatory approval, management, engineering, procurement, installation, operation and maintenance services.
Seaforth Engineering Group Inc., in conjunction with its affiliated company, Atlantic Orient Canada Inc., provides complete wind turbine generating systems and small hydro development capabilties. The utilization of these systems, often in conjunction with diesel-electric generating systems, conserves diesel fuel, reduces life cycle maintenance costs on existing plants, and provides a renewable energy source alternative to conventional energy generation. Atlantic Orient Canada Inc. manufactures the AOC 15/50 50 kW wind turbine. Seaforth provides any combination of build, own, operate, and/or transfer services for both wind energy and small hydro generating systems.
Seaforth provides total engineering solutions for responsible energy utilization by combining renewable energy and fossil fuel energy conservation and efficiency solutions To this end, Seaforth provides management, engineering, procurement, installation, operation and maintenance services to a variety of clients worldwide.
