Services

  • Custom Design And Manufacture Of Scientific Instrumentation
  • Custom Required Instruments

Our high talented team of scientists and engineers possess the diverse capabilities required to design instruments specific to customer requirements by using a unique 'Optical Building Block' concept. Sciencetech use a variety of components, including monochromators, light sources, power supplies, detector, and accessories, to produce a wide variety of spectroscopic systems. This concept allows the arrangement of components in configurations that best fit customer needs for particular experimental requirements. We also modify any equipment and design any unique optical and electronics required to best meet those needs. Sciencetech also produces an excellent line of off- the-self instruments.

  • Research And Development

New product development, small to medium quantity manufacturing facilities, and a line of optical instruments for analytical research with application in medicine, materials research, industrial processes, and space science.

Products

  • Applications In Applied Spectroscopy, Biotechnology, Medicine, Chemical Analysis, Physics And Environmental Control And Detection Systems
  • Barnakil Electronic Antifouling System.

BARNAKIL is a system for inhibiting the attachment of barnacles and other aquatic life forms to near-surface underwater structures, such as boat hulls, thereby saving fuel and maintenance costs. The BARNAKIL system consists of up to 16 individual audio frequency electromagnetic transducers (resonators) distributed over the interior of the boat hull, microprocessor-controlled from a water resistant central unit. BARNAKIL virtually eliminates the accumulation of barnacles and mussels. Dramatic reductions in the attachment of algae and slime have been achieved. BARNAKIL works very well with normal hulls (single sheet fibreglass and wood or metal hulls), but the vibrations do not transmit well through sandwich-type hulls with foams or for Kevlar/Epoxy FRP.

  • Remote Emission Sensing Device.

Sciencetech has studied the development of an instrument which will remotely monitor exhaust emissions from moving vehicles. An assessment of available technologies for remote measurement of trace gases, and of smoke opacity, was carried out. Typical exhaust emission levels from in-use vehicles were analysed based on current and future emission regulations. A conceptual design was developed for an instrument which can observe the exhaust plumes of passing vehicles form the roadside and assess the emission levels of specific pollutants. The prototype instrument is capable of detecting carbon monoxide (CO), unburned hydrocarbons (HC), nitrogen oxides (NOx) and particulates (diesel smoke, measured as optical opacity).
