Services

Plant Gene Resources Of Canada

Ecological Crop Protection Crop production and pest control practices for the Parkland region including : - forecasting infestations or grasshopper, wheat midge, Bertha Armyworm, root maggots; - surveys to identify emerging weed problems in crops; - recommendation for disease management and weed control in direct-seeded and zero-till field crops; - biological and biorational weed and insect control strategies; and - progressive insect and plant pathogen containment facilities and microbial fermentation lav for research and development of biological control agents

Crop Utilization Processes and products that expand the utilization of Prairie crops. Capability and facilities to conduct comprehensive investigations in natural product chemistry in support of value-added opportunities with plants.

Oilseed And Forage Breeding Elite germplasm of oilseed and forage crops. Capability to isolate, characterize and manipulate enzymes and genes and develop chemical and molecular markers in support of crop variety and germplasm development.

Biotechnology Optimization of plant architecture and plant physiology, in order to sustain excellent yield growth characteristics and yield potential under a range of biotic and environmental stresses.
