  • Decontaksolv (tm) Process

The Decontaksolv (TM) process used by Sanexen Services Environnementaux Inc. uses the properties of a reusable liquid to extract the PCBs contained in transformer carcasses and other electrical equipment. The system includes a closed area for the dismantling of the electrical equipment, an air ventilation and filtration system, an autoclave, a distiller, heat exchangers, a thermal unit and a drying unit for the processing of liquid waste after the extraction process.

First, the electrical equipment is segregated and the metal housings are then decontaminated in the autoclave. Smaller components are introduced into the autoclave through the use of baskets where they are washed with the extraction liquid. After the extraction cycle, a hot air stream circulates in the autoclave in a closed circuit in order to dry the material and to process the liquid waste. The treated material is then analyzed to ensure conformity and is then sent to a recycling facility. The process can be performed on site or in our fixed facility in Montral Qubec.
