An Overview

SIXNet Technologies is a company based at Six Nations of the Grand River Territory about 15 minutes south east of Brantford Ontario. SIXNet is a privately held company that is 100% owned by Aboriginal entrepreneurs and as such qualifies under the provisions of the Procurement Strategy for Aboriginal Business (PSAB) with the Canadian Federal government. SIXNet has its head office at Six Nations, Canadas largest First Nation; staff in Ottawa focused on Federal government solutions; and a senior sales executive based in Edmonton Alberta, focused on western Canada sales to provincial and municipal levels of government.

SIXNet has set a course to become the largest Aboriginal Technology Company in Canada. With this comes a vision to create higher paying Aboriginal jobs, to enable the transfer of technology skills to First Nations Peoples and to generate wealth by being innovative yet practical in the delivery of technology projects. Specifically, SIXNet Technologies has committed to:

Develop high-end technology skills and jobs inside Six Nations and other like minded Aboriginal communities across Canada and North America
Leverage Aboriginal technology skills and those found with SIXNet partners to deliver technology products and services to all levels of government:
oFirst Nations Governments

oProvincial and Municipal Governments
Market technology products and services to private industry and fully participate in the North American technology industry and more specifically the oil patch in western Canada
Develop strong private sector partnerships to help enable SIXNets growth and diversification in exchange for providing access to unique procurement vehicles
Provide First Nations across Canada and eventually across North America with a community based Aboriginal option for the purchase of technology products and services.
Provide a true Aboriginal option for multiple layers of Governments Procurement Strategies for Aboriginal Business.


A Unique Company

SIXNet is developing into a unique Aboriginal and technology story. Spawned from Grand River Enterprises (GRE) one of Canadas leading Aboriginal entrepreneurial success stories, SIXNet has the potential to become Canadas first pan-Canadian Aboriginal technology company. GRE, SIXNets parent company, has proven global business success exporting products to over 16 countries.

Adobe

SIXNet is Adobe Canadas exclusive Aboriginal partner and is authorized to sell all Adobe software both at the enterprise and desktop layers. Adobe has committed to a long and lasting partnership that is focused on the SIXNet goals of creating jobs, skills and wealth in the Aboriginal community. As a result Adobe has committed to conducting all Adobe partner training at the Six Nations at the Grand River Employment and Training Centre (GREAT). The first Adobe boot camp was held in August 2005.

iFathom

iFathom is an Ottawa based Information Technology/Information Management (IM/IT) company focused on both the Defense and Agricultural industries. SIXNet and iFathom have established a joint Professional Services organization aimed at providing the Federal government with technical resources from a broad list of skill sets.

In addition, SIXNet and iFathom have embarked on a project to create a new agricultural based opportunity for First Nations Peoples.

Rogue Data

Rogue Data is an Ottawa based Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Company focused on deploying automated Supply Chain Management solutions. SIXNet and Rogue Data have combined resources to conduct detailed requirements definition for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) projects in the manufacturing sector.
