Richard Stevens Architects Ltd. was founded in 1989 to continue work Mr. Stevens had begun in the former Toronto office of internationally renowned architect, Arthur Erickson. As a relatively new yet highly experienced practice, RSA brings together a group of professionals having excellent design and technical abilities gained in years of hands on experience in some of Canada's leading offices. As a team we provide full architectural services to our clients, emphasizing close dialogue and informed decision making between the client and consulting team.
With a strong background in design innovation, RSA is committed to total project excellence. We seek to realize the individuality and full potential of each design opportunity and to do so with imagination, technical competence and in close coordination with the client. By thoroughly understanding the functional, scheduling and budget requirements of each project we can control the ultimate quality of the building of our clients assets.
The strength and capability of RSA resides in the experience of its staff, whose creativity and qualifications enable us to perform all aspects of architectural service with exceptional confidence. We try to avoid the label of being specialists, instead realizing each project from first principles. Our design philosophy is to seek the unity of technical and aesthetic design. On this basis we have successsfully executed many project types including civic buildings, educational buildings, commercial retail/offices, residential condominiums and transit facilities. The Metro Separate School Board and the Toronto Transit Commission can testify to our ability to coordinate with expert consultants and successfully undertake new building types. Sound project management and administration ensure that projects are executed with care and thoroughness. We are experienced with the rigorous project management procedures required by organizations such as the United Nations, Canadian International Development Agency, International Bechtel, Toronto Transit Commission, Universities and Municipalities and are currently engaged in ISO 9002 registration.
RSA has evolved into an international practice, confirmation of the commitment, experience and capability of the staff. The firm is based in Toronto, Canada with links to a number of affiliated offices throughout the world.
