Drummondville, QC
The Canadian factory has been in Drummondville since late 1961 when manufacturing started in a 10000 sq. ft. plant with 10 employees. During 1964 a move was made to a new factory of 25000 sq. ft. Over the years, there have been two major and several minor building expansions.
In 1968, a parent company, Foster Refrigerator(U. K.)Limited was started in King's Lynn'England, where similar products were manufactured with the initial assistance of qualified personnel from Drummondville.
Until November 13, 1984, the Company, including Foster U. K., was privately owned by Mr. L. H. Foster, at which date it was acquired by Vulcan-Hart Company.
Products: In 1961, products manufactured were Reach-In refrigerators for the restaurant market. Since then, the product line has been expanded to include Walk-In rooms and refrigerated warehouses to serve the following markets:
-Restaurants, Hotels and Institutions -Supermarkets, Bakeries, Food Processors, Dairies -Hospitals, Laboratories and Research Institutes -Marine(ships) & Railways(for use on rolling stock).
