Michael Renwick has dedicated 25 years to processing,
manufacturing and marketing firms and has held senior management positions in many areas including international marketing and sales management, strategic planning, new product research and development, corporate awareness and brand building programs and new product launches.
He has broad credentials in the biological, technical and
business aspects of the fisheries and agri-food resources of
British Columbia, Canada and parallel experience with a broad
range of industrial, manufacturing and consumer product
industries domestically and internationally.
He is qualified in providing evaluation, strategic input and
bottom-line direction to a broad range of businesses and in
crafting new strategies and action plans to deliver fast,
productive and value added results.
Past clients include the United Nations/FAO, the Federal
Government of Canada (Western Diversification, Transport and
Industry Canada), the Provincial Government of British Columbia
(Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food), the Bank of
Montreal, Deloitte & Touche Management Consultants, and a wide

acquisition and joint venture candidates in two primary resource

Development and co-ordination of a planning project to
assess a major under-utilised resource in B.C. Provide an action
plan and future strategy to benefit the client, its suppliers,
plant workers and coastal communities.
Preparation of a Business Plan brief and search for
funding initiatives for a multi-million dollar new plant
operation in B.C. through Federal, Provincial and Municipal
Government Ministries and Agencies.
Provide a market dynamics assessment in North American
target markets of a fishery resource and to evaluate the
benefits and barriers to key market segments of the company's
development of an interactive electronic information and
interactive commodity exchange trading system for food products.
Conduct an international assessment of the markets for
and competitors to a resource sector industry association and
provide a strategic view and recommendations to position its
growing resource base towards products in demand in key markets
in future years.
Conduct an investigation into the historical flows of
Agri-food products into and out from the North West Coast of
Canada, assemble and analyze statistics and views of
stakeholders, and report the findings and recommendations on
air, land and marine transportation infrastructure needed to
facilitate economic growth in the region through stimulation of
incremental processing, new enterprises and direct export of
seafood and agricultural products from the northern BC city of
Prince Rupert.
On behalf of an international investment group, to
conduct a comprehensive evaluation of an international consumer
products company, based in Phoenix, Arizona including its
management team, the company's business plan, strategy and
executional plan, its competitors and the company's abilities
and requirements to achieve its objectives of substantial
domestic and international expansion over the next 3-5 years.
Appointed Chairman of the Advisory Committee by the
Board of Directors of an international investment group, to
execute a strategic plan to take a consumer products company
public in the US market and to achieve a comprehensive set of
milestones as contracted.
As principal subcontractor for a Pacific region focus,
on behalf of a National Association, conduct an examination of
the existence of and the needs for occupational standards of all
principal components of its harvesting sector.
On behalf of an East Coast Canadian food processor,
conduct an international and North American market research study
and preparation of a marketing strategy for its current and
potential products in retail , food service and speciality
markets.
As a contractor to a BC Coastal Community, to evaluate
the viability of and present a pre-financing Business Plan for a
new food processing facility to be owned and operated by the
community.
Contracted by a BC research company to evaluate the
domestic and international market for the company's future
product line of cultured shellfish products, conduct a strategic
evaluation of the industry's competitiveness and recommend a
marketing strategy for a tri-partite vertically integrated
