Environmental Products And Services

Water Supply And Sewage Treatment Specialists Able To Provide On-site Water And Wastewater Solutions That Meet High Quality Environmental Standards.
Burnside provides water and wastewater consulting and design services to municipalities, private, industrial and First Nations sectors. We have a unique team of specialists who use advanced tools such as remote sensing data from satellite to help find water supplies and offer cost effective treatment solutions to provide clean potable water supplies. Burnside's on-site treatment and disposal group have extensive experience in the design, installation, operation and maintenance of on-site wastewater treatment and disposal technologies. Our systems have been designed to handle wastewater generated from facilities as small as a single home to large systems capable of servicing small communities. Recently, technologies typically used for domestic wastewater treatment have been applied with great success to the treatment of more specialized waste streams such as industrial and landfill leachate.

Integration Of Satellite Imagery With Geological, Geophysical And Hydrogeological Data That Can Locate Groundwater Resources.
As surface water resources and easily accessible overburden aquifers become polluted or exhausted, the demand for potable water continues to increase, especially in the arid regions of the world. Locating and developing the groundwater resources hosted within the geological structures of bedrock requires a sophisticated approach in order to increase the success rate of a well drilling program. Burnside has the capability, by integrating a variety of data sets and utilizing leading edge technology, potential water bearing structural aquifers can be identified and water well sites selected. Once structural aquifers have been identified, the quantification and sustainability of the water supply must be evaluated so that there is understanding of where the water originates and the mechanism of movement. In some cases, bedrock structures can act as a conduit to bring water from beyond a particular drainage basin. As with any resource, protecting its source from impacts such as pollution is part of the integrated approach to resource management.
