R-Can Environmental Inc. was established in 1986. The company manufactures a continually growing line of ultraviolet disinfection systems (currently 1/2-1,000 gal./min.). These products are used to kill bacteria in residential, commercial and industrial applications where there is a need either voluntary or legislated to eliminate bacteria from water. By using ultraviolet lamps in the 254 nm range, these systems alter the DNA of bacteria, preventing reproduction thereby effectively killing the bacteria. This is a chemically free and environmentally friendly method of sterilizing water. These units are marketed by the company throughout the world.


R-Can also manufactures ozone generators (using ultraviolet lamps in the 185 nm range) for use in swimming pools and spas. These products substantially reduce the amount of chemicals such as chlorine needed to purify the water in the pool and spa.

R-can Ozone Generators.
Ozone, an effective oxidizing agent, is produced inside a sealed stainless steel generating chamber. As air is drawn through the chamber, molecules of oxygen recombine to create ozone. Ozone oxidizes contaminants very quickly and leaves harmless precipitates which are collected in the equipment filter. Ozone naturally reverts to pure oxygen in approximately 20 minutes. The use of ultraviolet light for aqueous microbiological disinfection has decades of proven performance in municipal and rural potable water sources across North America and the world. The ozone generating system uses many of the same basic components to expand this technology into a primary treatment source for the domestic spa and pool. Its ozone generating lamp is enclosed in a sealed stainless steel chamber. A visual LED power indicator light is included on all models. Some models include an audible alarm which automatically sounds in case of lamp failure. This feature helps to ensure positive personal protection. Ozone substantially reduces the chemicals presently being used in the spa or pool. R-can Sterilight Ultraviolet Water Sterilizers.
Sterilight virtually eliminates bacterial contaminants without using potentially hazardous chemicals. Bacteria and other microbiological organisms are destroyed safely inside a factory tested stainless steel cell. Sterilight adds nothing to your water, except cleansing ultraviolet light. The ultraviolet method of microbiological eradication is commonly used for farms, homes, cottages, greenhouses, restaurants, schools, hospitals, and many more. Water enters through the bottom port of the ultraviolet generator cell and swirls around a low pressure mercury vapour lamp, which emits powerful ultraviolet light energy at 253.7 nm wave length. Vital genetic components contained in microorganism absorb the light energy; this disrupts the DNA and prevents reproduction.
