Pyrotech Asphalt Equipment manufactures the PYROPAVER (TM) series of hot in-place asphalt recycling systems. The PYROPAVER (TM) 300E performs the recycling of asphalt concrete pavements to exacting standards and incorporates a full emission control system.

Two-Stage Technology:
Two-stage recycling means the sequential heating and removing of two separate layers of asphalt in one continuous operation. Chief among the benefits of two-stage recycling at the 2 to 2-1/2 inch depths achievable are the speed and convenience of operation, the lack of damage to asphalt properties, the excellent ride quality of the finished surface, and the substantial cost savings. The Pyropaver 300E is the culmination of years of practical experience by the creators of the two-stage process technology and represents the cutting edge of hot in-place asphalt recycling. The Pyropaver 300E is the first hot in-place asphalt recycling system to operate virtually smoke free which means that even urban areas are now able to utilize hot in-place recycling without jeopardizing air quality.


Environmental Impact:
Material savings are a major benefit of Pyropaving. Pyropaving reduces construction-caused emissions. Ninety percent of the fuel used by the Pyropaver 300E is propane which is a very clean-burning energy source. Delayed traffic is another source of atmospheric emissions and a cause of increased fuel consumption. A Pyropaver train is the least difficult disruption for motorists. It creates the shortest traffic delay of all resurfacing methods. Engineering Considerations:
The Pyropaver 300E has been designed to give pavement engineers maximum flexibility in asphalt mix design changes depending on deficiencies found in the lab test. Penetration and viscosity values of the asphalt cement can be modified easily by the addition of an appropriate amount of rejuvenating agent. If mix design values require improvement, this can be done by adding the appropriate ad mixture aggregate to improve the gradation. We manufacture the PYROPAVER (TM) series of hot in-place asphalt recycling systems. The PYROPAVER (TM) 300E performs the recycling of asphalt concrete pavements to exacting standards, and incorporates a full emission control system. The system provides a proven method of recycling asphalt to a depth of 2' and has the ability to add rejuvenates and virgin asphalt if and as required. Although it is often used as a stand-alone maintenance alternative, the design engineer may also use the PYROPAVER (TM) 300E to recycle the bottom lift and place virgin hot mix for the final lift. The productivity of the PYROPAVER (TM) 300E depends on asphalt condition, depth of operation as well as ambient and surface temperatures. These factors impact on heat penetration which, in turn, determines the speed of operation. On average, the system has the ability to recycle to a depth of 2' at a speed of 20 ft./min. or approximately 2 lane miles/day.
