Prospec Chemicals operates an 8, 000 MT (annual) chemical facility near Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. The company is a supplier member to the Canadian Association of Chemical Distributors We manufacture a complete range of pelleted potassium and sodium Xanthates and Flexanthates which are used in the processing of base and precious metals via the flotation method.
A second plant on the site produces xanthate derivatives. This product line includes Thionocarbamates, Xanthogen Formates, Frothers, and various blends of other flotation chemicals marketed under the SPRI, TENNAFROTH, SWAB and TENNAPRESS tradenames.
Prospec directly employs 13 people at Fort Saskatchewan with additional technical support from our research and applications laboratory located in Edmonton, Alberta, and our sales and marketing arm located across Canada. The xanthate plant operates 24 hr per day, 7 days per week.
Prospec Chemicals is a division of Charles Tennant & Company (Canada) Ltd. and is a member of Tennants Consolidated PLC. Products are marketed globally by CTC and a network of chemical distributors servicing the mining industry.
