Housed in one of Canada's largest all in house production facilities, Pascal Blais Productions has been specializing in high quality animation for the film and television markets for over 11 years.

Founded in 1983, by Pascal Blais and Bernard Lajoie, Pascal Blais Productions quickly established itself as one of the premiere producers of high quality animation in Canada. Now, in 1995 their newly renovated 10, 000 Sq. ft. studio in downtown Montreal, is home to their active anmation studio as well as four other off shoot companies. Experiencing tremendous success in local markets within the first few years of operation, Pascal Blais Productions has grown to a comapny employing over 35 people in 1995 and up to fifty by the start of 1996. Their rapid growth over the years has given birth to several successful companies each targeting a different area of the production industry. Along with Pascal Blais Productions there now exists Luminifex, Trickfilm, Corpimage and Django Productions.

In all cases Pascal Blais and Bernard Lajoie have entered into partnerships with proven experts in their fields, growing into areas with professionals that have the potential to succeed.

Pascal Blais Productions:

Have been producing award winning work in many different animation styles ranging from traditional cell, to stop-motion pupet and clay. In addition they have been marrying these various traditional animation techniques with 3D Computer Animation, Live-Action Motion Control, and Optical effects.

As a total production facility they are capable of carrying any production form start of initial concept, and development of the storyboard, to the post production and delivery. They have qualified personnel with a multitude of experience in every area.

Over the years they have been producing commercials for a wide variety of clients in Canada, Nort America, South America and Europe. They have experience in animation for any television standard and the personnel to handle all the special requirements.

The Directors:

Pascal Blais, the head of creative production has been directing animation and live action for animation for over 12 years. His clear proficiency in communication has directly awarded hundreds of commercial with their success. In addition, The creative staff of directors work closely with Pascal, ensuring each production attains the highest quality level possible. The caliber of their productions and the diversity of styles and techniques they use, have earned them numerous awards and prizes in Canada and abroad.

Luminefex:

Founded in 1990 Luminefex quickly became the leader in Montreal, supplying computerized animation stand services with a full range of motion picture printing services. They also specialize in creating titles and optical effects for feature films, commercials and television programs and special events.

Opticals:

Utilizing two Oxberry Optical printers with 35mm, 16mm, and super 16mm with wet gate and additive lamphouse Luminefex is set to handle all your special optical needs.

Animation Camera The state of the art camera division runs two Oxberry 16/35mm fully computerized 12 axis animation stands with Kuper Controls.

Motion Control:

The camera, housed in a 2, 000 sw ft blue screen studio is based upon the three axis head - Mechanical Concepts design. This custom built system provides flexibility and speed. In-house designed, user-friendly interface software and digital servo motor make this 8 axis rig movd at speeds of upto 3 feet/sec. with rates up to 30 frames/sec. Ideal for the demands, precision real-time and stop-motion combination photography, place upon any facility.

The extreme precision and reliability of the camera system opens many new doors to the Canadian film and commercial industries to produce complex visual effects, usually only offered through the large and costly U. S. based studios.

The system dimensions include a 3 axis with 360 continuous pan, tilt and roll, 24 foot track, 6 foot cross-track, 9 foot elevation, and 7 foot boom with 360 rotation.

Corpimage:

Founded in 1994, Corpimage is a corporate film and multi-media production company with large scale production capacity. The Infomercial division was created in 1995 in order to satisfy increasing client demands.

Coprimage productions include work for clients such as BOMBARDIER, SLM International, S. R. TELECOM, Dairy Bureau of Canada, General Motors of Canada, Brownline Agendas, M. I. C. S. T. and a video series for Jean-Marc Chaput, distributed through many large retail outlets across Quebec.

Django Productions:

Most recently Pascal Blais Productions has entered the arena of animated specials and Television series production with Django Productions.

Set up to handle medium and long format productions Django has grown rapidly in it's first year. Django productions has signed a co-production deal and commenced production on a full animated 26-minute film, to be co-produced with Les Armateurs, in France, Odec-Kid Cartoons - Belgium, and distribution through the BBC Enterprises U. K.
