Applied Research And Development
The home of applied agricultural research and development of
machinery, equipment, and processes.
Crops Processing/Value-added Research And Development
PAMI's new Crops Processing Development Centre supplies R&D
services in food and non-food crops processing, value added,
materials handling, cleaning, washing, drying, grading, sorting,
conditioning, storage, transporting, testing, prototype
fabrication, data acquisition analysis, equipment and
process performance, and modeling.
Manure Management
Providing research and development services in hog manure
management, application, field incorporation and injection,
fertilizer value assessment, storage, odour/odor control, barley
straw covers for storages, storage agitation and sampling, and
nitrogen equivalence.
Standards And Compliance Testing
Supplying standards and compliance testing services for
machinery and equipment for export. Including but not limited to
testing for European union, eu, ce mark, Conformite Europeeenne,
new approach directives, harmonized standards, homologation,
health safety, agricultural machinery, equipment, and machinery
directives.
Emerging Technolgies
Supplying applied research and development services for emerging
agricultural technologies. A record of experience in machinery
and process innovations such as such as hay-in-a-day technology,
manure management technology, prototypes, technical evaluations
and assessments, crops processing, and material transportation
economics.
Sustainable Agriculture - Direct Seeding Centre Of Excellence
PAMI has been involved in sustainable agriculture
through agronomic studies, soils and crops research, direct and
air seeding technologies, and dryland farming techniques;
planting, emergence, yield, and crop performance studies; farm
machinery testing, prototype development, and technical
evaluation and assessment work.

Publications range from short reports in the form of Research
Updates to publications such as 'Direct Seeding Manual: A Farming
System for the New Millenium'; 'The Stockmans Guide to Range
Livestock Watering from Surface Sources'; 'Special Crops
Equipment Directory'; 'Be Seen, Be Safe! A guide to the Safe
Trandsport of Farm Equipment on Manitoba Highways'.
Safety And Standards Testing
PAMI assists manufacturers in providing independent, third-party
tests and test data to verify a product has passed the
requirements of standardized or compliance testing required by
export markets, governments, and regulatory bodies.
Livestock
PAMI supplies applied research and development services in areas
of agricultural engineering that apply to livestock production.
This includes but is not limited to feed production and
feed processing, livestock containment and handling systems,
watering, and transportation.
