Abbotsford, QC
It was in 1962 that Mr. Jean-Claude Paquette purchased the nursery he has been successfully operating ever since. Later, his two sons joined him in the business, turning it into a family-run enterprise. But over the last few years, the trio directing the company has been made up of Jean-Claude and his son Pierre, who manages wholesale operations and production, as well as Pierre Choquette, who is in charge of administrative management and retail operations.
For more than four decades, Ppinire Abbotsford has been specialised in growing trees, shrubs and conifers, both in the field and in containers. All together, its repertoire includes more than 900 species and cultivars. Over the last few years, the enterprise has added to this impressive production a wide range of roses as well as about one hundred varieties of perennials. Currently this nursery located south-east of Montreal covers some 65 hectares including 45 reserved for field production and 20 for growing some 500, 000 container plants.
Of course, nursery production at this level is not limited to the members of a single family. To meet the needs of its clients throughout Quebec, Ontario, and the Maritimes, as well as in the North-eastern part of the United States, Ppinire Abbotsford is able to count on an experienced team of 150 people during the busiest times of the year.

OTHER QUALITY PRODUCTS
Aware of the importance of always innovating in a world that is more and more competitive, Ppinire Abbotsford has also added other gardening products to its already vast range of plants. That is why it was the first to market cacao shells, sold under the name CAO Dcor, as a mulch. This product plays an important role in eliminating weeds. Furthermore, since it decomposes readily, changing into organic matter, it also helps stimulate plant growth.
Ppinire Abbotsford is also distributor of the fibre containers and plastic pots used for production.
