The mission of the PGA is to create success in Alberta's potato industry supporting sustainable production, marketing, development and co-operation.
The vision of the PGA is to:
PROMOTE the profitable production and sale of Alberta potatoes and potato products at the best possible price;
INFORM potato growers and the potato industry of environmental developments that lead to sustained potato production and improved environmental manufacturing processes;
ASSIST potato growers, dealers, packers, and processors to sell Alberta potatoes and potaato products in every possible market;
ENCOURAGE the growing and manufacture of the best quality of Alberta potatoes and potato products; and
PROVIDE member services, industry information assisting potato growers with production, storage and management of their crop, for the benefit of the potato growers of Alberta, their family, and their staff.
The responsibilities of the PGA encompass study and research priorities in potato production, quality control and marketing.
Advertising and sales promotions are activities designed to increase consumer awareness of an Alberta grown product.
