Plasti-Fab Ltd.
PFB Corporation is a public company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol PFB. PFB Corporation, through its wholly owned subsidiary Plasti-Fab Ltd., is a vertically integrated manufacturer of expanded polystyrene products. Plasti-Fabs products are used in a number of applications including residential and commercial building insulation, buoyancy, geotechnical, packaging and display applications.
Plasti-Fab products are manufactured in 6 facilities across Canada and are distributed to customers directly, through resellers or through building supply retailers. We manufacture expandable polystyrene resin in our polymer plant at Crossfield, Alberta which is used exclusively for our own production. We also source EPS resin from other suppliers to supplement our own needs and for use in specialty products.
Our goal is to help our customers build more economical, energy efficient structures by providing innovative EPS products to the construction industry. We are also committed to providing customers with EPS product solutions in other industries such as packaging and display where the lightweight, impact absorbing and structural properties of EPS provide a unique advantage.
We are proud of our history of over 35 years which has positioned us as a leader in the EPS industry. We intend to grow our business by accessing new markets and manufacturing and marketing proprietary products that utilize the insulating and other unique properties of expanded polystyrene.

Plastispan Insulating Sheathing Boards
PlastiSpan insulating sheathing boards are designed to reduce
energy consumption in residential and commercial buildings by
providing a continuous thermal blanket which eliminates thermal
bridges and provides the thermal resistance specified by
designers, engineers, architects and others.
When used as exterior sheathing on wood or steel studs,
PlastiSpan insulating sheathing boards will increase the thermal
resistance of a wall to the desired value in combination with 2'
x 4' studs and batt insulation while reducing the costs
associated with 2' x 6' framing. The use of 2' x 4' studs and
PlastiSpan insulating sheathing boards (instead of 2' x 6' studs
in conjunction with wood sheathing products) on all exterior
walls will significantly reduce the consumption of valuable
natural lumber resources and therefore help to preserve our
forests. PlastiSpan insulating sheathing boards are placed over
the entire exterior of the building, providing an insulated
envelope which eliminates thermal shorts and reduces air
infiltration. To obtain maximum advantages from PlastiSpan
insulation, it should be continuous over the foundation walls
and also on the roof.
PlastiSpan insulating sheathing boards are an expanded
polystyrene (EPS) product which contains no CFC's, HCFC's, or
HFC's. The closed cell structure of PlastiSpan insulating
sheathing boards is not subject to thermal drift and provides
excellent resistance to moisture. PlastiSpan insulation is
inert to a wide range of chemicals (specific information
regarding chemical resistance is available upon request), have
no food value, and will not attract insects, parasites, animal
or plant life.
PlastiSpan insulating sheathing boards are manufactured by
Plasti-Fab Ltd. under strict quality control guidelines,
monitored by AFM Inc./Underwriters' Laboratories of Canada, and
meet or exceed the requirements of CAN/CGSB-51.20-M87 (Types 1,
2 and 3).

PlastiSpan insulation provides excellent resistance to

PlastiSpan insulation board can be placed above or below
grade to provide an insulated envelope that eliminates thermal
shorts and reduces air infiltration. Typical applications
include above or below basement floor slabs, on the interior or
exterior of foundation walls, as an insulating sheathing on
exterior walls, or over the entire roof of a building in either
flat or sloped boards (Note: Use of sloped boards retains the
economy of flat deck construction, while ensuring positive
drainage is provided.).
Since PlastiSpan insulation board is an expanded polystyrene
(EPS) product, it contains no CFC's, HFC's or HCFC's and is
therefore not subject to thermal drift. It is inert, non-
nutritive and highly stable, will not decompose, decay, or
produce undesirable gases or leachates. As well, it is
recyclable, and safe for Waste To Energy (WTE) systems and
landfills. PlastiSpan insulation board is manufactured by
Plasti-Fab under strict quality control guidelines, monitored
by AFM Inc./Underwriters' Laboratories of Canada, and meets the
requirements of CAN/ULC-S701-M96 (formerly CAN/CGSB-51.20-M87),
Types 1, 2 and 3.
Plastispan Roof Insulation
PlastiSpan roof insulation is designed to reduce energy
consumption in residential and commercial buildings by providing
a continuous thermal blanket which eliminates thermal bridges
and provides the thermal resistance specified by designers,
engineers, architects and others.
PlastiSpan roof insulation is placed over the entire roof of the
building, providing an insulated envelope that eliminates
thermal shorts and reduces air infiltration. PlastiSpan roof
insulation is available in either flat or sloped boards. Sloped
boards retain the economy of construction of a flat deck, while
ensuring positive drainage is provided. To obtain maximum
advantages of PlastiSpan roof insulation, it should be used in
conjunction with PlastiSpan insulation applied to the exterior
walls and also to the foundation walls.
PlastiSpan roof insulation is an expanded polystyrene (EPS)
product which contains no CFC's, HCFC's, or HFC's. The closed
cell structure of PlastiSpan roof insulation is not subject to
thermal drift and provides excellent resistance to moisture.

(specific information regarding chemical resistance is available

parasites, animal or plant life.

Insulspan Structural Insulated Building Panels
Insulspan panels are structural insulated panels (SIP's)
constructed with a solid core of PlastiSpan expanded
polystyrene (EPS) insulation laminated to pre-engineered
oriented strand board (OSB) facings. Insulspan panels are ideal
for use as exterior wall panels, roofs/ceiling panels and floor
panels resulting in a superior monolithic insulation layer on
the exterior of the building envelope.
Insulspan panels are manufactured as a stud-less one-piece
structural component with exceptional strength to resist typical
loads caused by winds, snow, and seismic activity. In addition,
the panels are 'closed-cavity' designed providing optimum
comfort for temperature, noise, and dust control, and blocking
wind and moisture movement to achieve a superior energy
efficient design.
The use of OSB reduces deforestation by using recycled lumber,
lumber manufacturing by-products (eg., scrap material), low-
quality hardwoods, plantation thinnings and roots,
and 'farmable' forest products (i.e., fast growing, renewable
growth). The Insulspan panel insulation core for is made from
PlastiSpan EPS that incorporates termite resistant treatment in the
EPS manufacturing process. The EPS manufacturing process incorporates a natural mineral into the EPS to provide insect resistance for the life of the material.
Features include: Super energy efficient structures, no thermal
drift, available in a range of wall thicknesses to provide
required thermal resistance (R-Value), energy cost savings of
more than 50%, proven structural integrity, no special designs
needed, easily adjusts to existing plans, saves weeks of
construction time and labour costs, Environmentally Friendly -
Perform Guard EPS contains no CFC's, HFC's or HCFC's. It is
inert, non-nutritive and highly stable, therefore, it will not
decompose, decay, or produce undesirable gases or leachates.
