Petroleum Industry Training Service
The Petroleum Industry Training Service is a non-profit training
organization governed by a Board of Directors made up of senior
representatives from the petroleum industry. The Service operates
throughout Canada with the head office in Calgary, Alberta, our
major training facility in Nisku, Alberta and an offshore well
control training simulator in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The
objectives of the organization are to identify training needs of
the industry, develop & offer training programs, provide
training advice & guidance & help establish standards which will
be accepted & supported by the industry & various regulatory
agencies. Since incorporation in 1961, we have trained
thousands of industry personnel in drilling, gas plant,
offshore, production engineering, environmental, heavy oil, tar
sands & pre-employment programs. Every year, over 8,000 students
attend the open registration courses.
