USM-Permashell Canada Ltd. is the only Canadian-based industrial painting contractor specializing in refinishing transformer radiators by flow coating. Flow coating provides a replacement finish for radiators that is equivalent to a factory-applied immersion finish, however it is done on-site in the substations, without dismantling the equipment, and with little or no disruption of service. By flooding the surfaces of the radiator tubes with liquid paint, flow coating provides complete coverage of the total surface area, including penetration into the confined spaces between the tubes, and the joints and crevices deep within the radiator banks that are not accessible by any other painting method. Flow coating guarantees maximum service life by providing maximum protection in those areas that are particularly vulnerable to corrosion damage, and where corrosion could result in ruptures and shut-downs.
