Custom protocol conversion applications can be developed to meet most timeframes and budgets. Because the VSP supports an open, standards-based programming environment, MicroLegend engineers develop custom applications quickly using commercially available, state-of-the-art software development tools. The open software architecture of the VSP also simplifies integration into existing customer service order entry, management and operational control systems.
A wide variety of custom systems have been deployed to support critical network services including:
Brazilian Telephone User Part (BZ-TUP) to Brazilian ISDN User Part (BZ-ISUP) International PCS Roaming Protocol Converter for GSM networks [press release] TR-533 to AIN 0.1 Protocol Converter for 1-800/888 Toll-Free (Freephone) Service MTP Protocol Converters for ITU-T C7 Networks in China, Mongolia and Japan
The MicroLegend SCCP Relay enables GSM operators to deploy multiple Home Location Registers (HLRs) in their network. The SCCP Relay uses Global Title Translation to route SS7 messages to the correct HLR.
The MicroLegend VSP enables network operators to control their operational costs by minimizing the number of SS7 links they need to lease to the PSTN. The VSP acts as a gateway, routing SS7 traffic between the external SS7 links and the devices on the carrier's network.
The MicroLegend SS7/IP Signaling Gateway interworks SS7 networks with IP Networks. It is an ideal product for IP Telephony applications. It also serves as an SS7 front end for Intelligent Network services.
