THE STRATEGIC BUSINESS UNITS THERMELEK ENGINEERING
Thermelek Engineering Services Ltd., is one of the most experienced ozone contractors in the United Kingdom having over 100 ozone units in operation and having extensive involvement in some of the largest municipal plants. Thermelek is the technology leader in leisure water (swimming pool, water park) ozonation in the UK. Thermelek has more than sixty pool installations incorporating ozone, which experience combined with Thermelek's standard ozone and filtration processes complying with the BEWA Code of Practice preferred scheme, give it a significant advantage in the world market for leisure water treatment process and equipment.
Thermelek has proprietary wave machines (the BONDI) and moveable floors and boons (Aqua TERR) which are sold worldwide. Thermelek was the chosen water treatment contractor for the prestigious City of Sheffield 1991 World Student Games aquatic facility at Ponds Forge. Not only was a new international competition pool, and an international diving pool built, but a leisure pool was incorporated in the same complex. In 1994, the Company achieved accreditation by Lloyds Register Quality Assurance Limited to BS 5750 Part I. The Company was further assessed for compliance with the then new BS EN ISO 9001; 1994 Standard and accreditation was awarded in 1995.
HANKIN OZONE
Hankin's oxidation technology is concentrated on ozone. Oxidation technologies are employed as a participating component in virtually all water and wastewater treatment processes. Science is increasingly capable of detecting parasites, viruses, bacteria and other water borne contaminants and infectious substances and science is raising the standard for their destruction and or removal. Legislation is driving the move towards the reduction of chlorine (labeled as carcinogenic) for disinfection and the increased use of ozone as best available disinfection technology. In industry, legislation and economics are driving the switch from the usage of environmentally persistent toxic chemicals to electro-mechanical (ozone), environmentally friendly treatment protocols for the treatment of water.
