including lab-lemco beef extract, casein hydrolysate,
peptones, tryptone, soya peptone, yeast extract powder and
various grades of agar. These products are used for
diagnostic culture media and fermentation.
Blood Culture Systems

technology. SIGNAL is a one bottle system formulated to
grow aerobic, anaerobic and microAerophilic organisms.
ISOLATOR is a highly selective direct-draw system using
lysis-centrifugation / direct plating technology.
Rapid Diagnostic Kits
Oxoid produces a range of latex confirmation test for
staphylococius aureus, streptococcal grouping, E. COLI
0157 & infectious mononucleosis. The products will soon
be available in our DRYSPOT technology as well the
company also has two tests for the food industry; the
LISTERIA rapid test and SALMONELLA rapid test, both A.O.A.C.
approved.
Anaerobic Systems
Oxoid offers two systems for the generation of anaerobic
and microAerophilic conditions. Oxoid gas generating and
campylobacter gas generating kits are catalyst based
'traditional' jar systems. The Oxoid ANAEROGEN and
CAMPYGEN systems offer the benefits of traditional jars
systems while needing no catalyst, no water and producing
no hydrogen.
Antimicrobial Susceptibility Tests
The Oxoid antimicrobial susceptibility testing system
comprises a wide range of susceptibility discs in cartridge
packs, a disc dispenser and a full range of culture media
including Mueller Hinton agar, D.S.T.A. & ISO - Sensitest.
