Optical image analyzer that rapidly and accurately measures fibre length, curl, %fines, kink and coarseness in dilute pulps. Incorporates a patented flow cell that never plugs, automatically orients the fibres for correct shape analysis and is resistant to fouling (i. e. pulps with extrac- tives, ink or filler do not contaminate the flow cell optics).
Very high magnification image analyzer that rapidly and accurately quantifies microscopic (8 um and larger) residual ink during and after de-inking. Options include a background re- flectance measurement for flexographic inks (all particles less than 8 um).
Includes a device for collecting lint from an offset blanket (lab or production press) and fractionating the lint to calculate an index of linting propensity.
An ON LINE system for measuring the quality of cellulose fibres in terms of fibre morphology.
Measures all components of paper formation (mass uniformity) from 0.05 mm to 38 mm. Employs advanced FFT algorithms that are very fast (< 4s/image) to calculate formantion values, at each component of formation, relative to a 'perfect' sheet and relative to a reference sheet.
Absorption testing at realistic (i. e. production) contact times between the fluid and the sheet. The method is according to the Bristow technique. (Honours: ASTM Std.)
An ON-LINE system for monitoring the concentration of 'hard' plastics in pulp.
Ages pulp according to Tappi Method T260 and C. P. P. A. Tech. Sect. Std. Method E.4.
The Wide Format Image Analysis (WFIA) measures dirt in pulp and paper utilizing the standard TAPPI T563 test method and PAPTAC Standard D.35. WFIA measures the number, size and equivalent black area (EBA) of visible dirt specks far more precisely than the human eye. Operating on either pulp or paper, the WFIA detects and quantifies dirt contamination within sheets up to one meter wide in a single scan. The Wide Format Image Analyzer provides the information you need to assure high quality product. Best of all, it's the easiest, fastest and most reliable way to measure dirt.
