OmniGlobe Networks Inc.

Pointe-Claire, QC

Company Overview

OmniGlobe Networks Inc. (OGN) (www. omniglobenet. com) provides satellite + wireless broadband services to consumers, businesses and government agencies in areas of the world where terrestrial telecommunications are unavailable or expensive and unreliable. Our business proposition is that we make our internet service provider partners more profitable and help them lock-in their customers. With an OGN instant infrastructure network they can offer consumers up to 2Mb/s broadband at around $50 pm (29 pm) and still make 57% gross margin.

Consumers can be up to 30km away from the OGN wireless base stations. They place an indoor aerial on a window and connect it directly into the OGN home user modem see below. That modem either connects directly to their PC or to a local wireless router for their building or LAN (local area network). OmniGlobe runs the whole network internationally end to end. That means the overall network management, satellite space segment provision, international gateway hub management (the interface of the satellite network to the internet), 24hour network monitoring, procurement of all technical infrastructure, base stations and end user terminals, shipping, spares management, quality control and continuous R&D improvements to the network.

The ISP partner is responsible for procuring the appropriate local licenses, consumer acquisition, home installations, billing and the first line phone and technical support.
